Terms of use
These terms are the agreement between you and Switchbacks when you use the website and the app. By using Switchbacks, you agree to them.
What Switchbacks is, and isn't
Switchbacks is a supportive companion and a library of educational content for people going through separation and divorce. It uses AI to respond to you. It is not therapy, counseling, medical care, or legal or financial advice, and it doesn't create a therapist-client or attorney-client relationship. For those, please talk with a licensed professional.
The companion can be wrong. Use your own judgment, and check anything important with a qualified person.
Safety
Switchbacks is not an emergency or crisis service. If you're in crisis, call or text 988 in the US. If you or someone else is in danger, call 911.
Who can use it
You must be 18 or older.
Membership and payment
- Membership is billed through Stripe at the price shown when you sign up. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel.
- You can cancel anytime from your profile in the app. You keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for.
- If something isn't right with a charge, email us and we'll work it out with you.
- Codes we give out for free access may have an end date and may be turned off.
Your content
What you write is yours. It's stored on your device, and it's sent to our AI provider only to generate replies, as described in the privacy policy.
Using it fairly
Please don't misuse the service, try to get around the membership, or use it to harm anyone.
Content from others
We point to books, podcasts, talks and programs by other people. We don't control them and aren't responsible for them.
Limits of liability
Switchbacks is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Changes
We may update these terms. If we make a significant change, we'll update the date above and let members know in the app.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California.
